Hello. I am the Researcher, though I'm more often called /survivor/.
I have been looking into the Giant for more than fifteen years, attempting to understand what it is, and what it wants. While my attempts were initially fruitless, I believe that my efforts are nearing at least a rudimentary understanding of the Tall Man. First, I must explain that only once have I encountered the enigmatic figure; a story I shall tell here.
I believe it was june of 2006, at the time I was working for a man named Steven Fischer in America at a psychiatric ward. We were both aware of the Giant, which was how we'd met and come to work with one another. We were helping a woman named Jennifer █████. She had seen the Tall Man most of her life and had managed to block it out, so was really the obvious choice for such experiments - as very few others had. We attached equipment which monitors brain activity to her head and tryed just about every method we could think of to 'summon' the Giant. We were just about to give up and remove the helmet from her head, when the thought occured to me: we were thinking as though the Tall One must be bound by rules. We sedated the woman and left the room, careful to set up some Electromagnetic-detection devices - not that I had much faith in them. We left the brain monitoring system active and waited in a cramped control room. Fischer, as was his nature, was eyeing me with skepticism - and in his position I would most likely have done the same. After several minutes he opened his mouth, presumably to denounce me and state a better idea (something I was up for right about then), when we noticed her brain activity change.
A horrendous beeping flooded the room, the sound of electromagnetic detectors registering something dangerous and there he was, striding forward from the shadows! A moment I had waited my entire adult life for, the Giant! Standing before me! I rushed out, shouting at it to stay where it was, trying everything, including activating what boiled down to a microwave, a potato and some lead lining. All It did was look vaguely annoyed, before straightening it's hat, and grabbing Jennifer. I would not let this happen - I don't know what it does with this it takes, but I wasn't going to let a patient and personal friend find out - I reached for it's outstretched arm only to ne tossed aside like a ragdoll. Some of the equipment erupted in sparks and small flames and as suddenly as he had appeared, he was gone. Along with Patient Jennifer █████. To this day, I haven't seen either the Giant or his prey. But I intend too.
I shall update this blog with some of my findings later today I should expect. Until then, stay away from te Shadows. /survivor/.
